Funeral
services for Oleta L. Lee, age 87, of Lake Limestone, will be held Friday, May
17, 2013 at 11 AM in the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Bro. Carl
Wayne Standley will officiate the service. Mrs. Lee will be laid to rest in the
North Creek Cemetery, northeast of Centerville in rural Leon County. Visitation
will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Walters
Funeral Home.
Oleta L. Lee was born on February 14, 1926 in Houston County, Texas to Robert
& Julia (Luce) Mims. She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed
fishing, baking, doing yard work and taking care of her flowerbeds. Most of all,
Mrs. Lee was extremely family oriented. She loved all of her family very much
and enjoyed having them together as much as possible. Mrs. Lee married Harley
Bob Lee on May 5, 1945 and they shared sixty-six wonderful years together until
his death in 2011. They had lived at their home in Lake Limestone for the past
fifteen years. Mrs. Lee was a member of the Malvern Community Church when she
and her husband lived in Leon County. She passed away on May 14, 2013 in Waco
following a brief illness. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by both of her
parents; beloved husband, Harley Bob Lee and grandson, Andrew Scott Long.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Gary Bob & Janice Lee of
Bartlesville, Oklahoma; daughters & son-in-law, Judy (Lee) Duggan of Lake
Limestone and Paula (Lee) & John Vayo of Lake Limestone; sisters, Marjorie
McAnnally of Crockett and Yvonne Dominy of the Ninevah Community; sister-in-law,
Lee Ann Mims of Buffalo and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Maxine Dudley will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2 PM in the Buffalo Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Brushy Cemetery.
Maxine Dudley passed away peacefully, May 12, 2013 from natural causes. She was born August 14, 1937. She grew up in Buffalo, TX and lived most of her adult life in the central Texas area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Fannie Gordon, and her sister, Dorothy Brown. She is survived by her son, David Dudley, his wife, Pam and grandsons Cody and Matthew and her daughter, Malesa Brauckman, her husband Randy and grandsons Daniel and Daryl.
Funeral services for Wendell Caskey, age 83 of Grapeland will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Bailey & Foster Chapel in Grapeland. Interment will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the Bailey & Foster Chapel in Grapeland from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Mr. Caskey was born March 17, 1930 in Grapeland to Oren and Fannie Lou Collins Caskey. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Grapeland Masonic Lodge. He retired from Vulcraft as an inspector. He was also a 29 year member of the Grapeland Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Fire Chief for over 7 years.
Mr. Caskey was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Ola Me Allen Caskey, a son Robert Lee Franklin, and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Patsy Franklin Caskey of Grapeland, daughters Shirley Bridges and husband Ricky of Grapeland and Judy Erwin and husband Joe of Hemphill; sons Johnny Franklin and wife Brenda of Elkhart, Tommy Franklin and wife Lisa of Alvarado, Curtis Franklin and wife Lana of Elkhart, thirteen gradnchildren andsixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Billy Dudley Warner, age 93 of Galena Park will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 2 PM in the Groveton Funeral Home Cartwright Memorial Chapel. services for Mr. Kenneth Lewis, age 79, of Oakwood, will be held Wednesday, May
15, 2013 at 10 AM in the Walters Buffalo Funeral Home in Buffalo, Texas. Wayne
Bell, of Walters Family Funeral Homes, will officiate the service. A graveside
service with military honors provided by the U.S. Army will be held at 2 P.M.,
Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen,
Texas. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M., Tuesday, May 14 at the
Walters Buffalo Funeral Home.
Kenneth Lewis was born on December 4, 1933 in Winnsboro, Texas to Melvy &
Laura (Lewis) Lewis. Mr. Lewis was baptized in the Baptist Church. He retired as
a First Sergeant from the United States Army after twenty years of active duty.
His service in the Army took him to both Vietnam and Korea on two separate tours
of each. Mr. Lewis was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
After his retirement from the Army, Mr. Lewis worked for the Hilton Hotel in
Bryan, Texas and retired as it’s chief engineer. His favorite pastime was
sitting outside and drinking his coffee. Mr. Lewis and his wife had lived in
Leon County since 1986. He passed away May 11, 2013 in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Lewis
was proceeded in death by both of his parents and brother, Willie Lewis.
Surviving family includes wife, Ruby Lewis of Oakwood; sons, James Lewis of
Oakwood and Kenneth Lewis & wife, Sandra of Sealy; brothers, Billy Lewis of
Humble, Troy Lewis of Tatum and Jimmy Lewis of Hilltop Lakes and sister, Dorothy
Bigbee of Houston.
Funeral services for Mr. Andrew “Red” “Wren” Franklin Allison will be held Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Kennard First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Durham officiating. Interment will follow in the Conner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kennard First Baptist Church.
Mr. Andrew “Red”, “Wren” Franklin Allison, age 84 of Ratcliff, Texas passed away Friday May 3, 2013 at his home. Mr. Allison was born July 20, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska. Red Allison was the son of Albert Ray and Lydia Christine Allison and was the 3rd of 5 brothers born to this union. His family moved to Texas when Red was 8 years old. He attended Jeff Davis High School in Houston. He married Catherine Elizabeth Harper on May 18, 1947. Mr. Allison worked for the Houston National Gas Company for 15 years. He retired and moved to Ratcliff, Texas in 1973. He worked for the Texas Department of Corrections for 20 years where he reached the rank of Assistant Warden serving over the prison store. Andrew Allison received the nickname “Red” from his family and the nickname “Wren” from his wife’s family. This was often confusing to others if both families got together. Mr. Allison was a member of the Kennard First Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday school teacher over the Class of Neimiah for 39 years. He worked with the youth on Wednesday nights. He loved his church and loved to be in church. Mr. Allison stayed long after church services cleaning up and locking doors. Mr. Allison also served on the Water Board for the Ratcliff Water System. Mr. Allison loved to hunt, fish and loved spending time with his family and he spent hours each week calling and checking on family members across the USA. Survivors include his wife of almost 66 years, Catherine Elizabeth Harper Allison of Ratcliff; daughters, Edna Christine Allison Vrana Thomas and husband, Perry of Royce City, Andrea Kathleen Allison Hill and husband, Ronald Dean of Kennard; son, Michael Keith Allison and wife, Barbara of Crockett; grandchildren include Audra Hill, Tess Tusberg, Elizabeth Richards, Rebecca Parker, Danny Vrana, John Vrana, Matthew Allison, Rachel Groves, Shandi Stephens, Caitlin Cook, Donna Green, Michael Jackson and Brooke Jackson; great grandchildren are Alisha, Cody, Joshua, Sabrina, Rachel, Christopher, Brandie, Marissa, Justin, Shelby, Jaysie, Miller, Chloe, Callie, Gunner, Christian, Macy, Grady and Matti; great great grandchild is Michael; brothers, James “Jimmy” Allison and wife, Wanda of Plain Community and Paul E. Allison and wife, Jo Ann of The Woodlands; good friend of 70 years, Charles and wife, Inge Hunter of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews, church family and friends. services for Mrs. Joyce May Gray, age 87, of Bedias will be held Tuesday, May 7,
2013 at 11 AM in the Bedias Baptist Church in Bedias. Rev. Nathan Hoke will

for Mrs. Gray will be held Monday, May 6th, from 5PM until 7 PM at the
Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville.
Joyce Gray was born September 1, 1925 in Houston. She was a homemaker and had
lived over 50 years in Bedias. She was a member of the Bedias Baptist Church,
the Womens Club in Bedias and a 42 club. She passed away at her home on Saturday
evening, May 4, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
Hobson Gray and by a sister, Mary Ann Evans. Surviving family includes a
daughter, Laurie Gray of Bedias and several nieces and nephews.

Clifton Eulan Pyburn was born January 15, 1949 in Dublin, Texas. He married Sandra McCullar January 17, 1973 in Jacksonville Texas. He is survived by his wife of 40 years and children: Marla Rambin and husband Rick of Livingston, Shawndra Graham and husband Randy of Lewisville, Shawn Snell and fiancée Cris Stuckey of Frisco, daughters Jenna, Denna, and Quayla; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

David Anthony Land previously of Houston County, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1967 in Houston and was a resident of Conroe, formerly living in Houston County. David had worked as a roofer.

Mrs. Mary Campbell Henry, age 96, of Crockett, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, in the Houston County Nursing Home. She was born February 9, 1917 in Groveton, Texas and had lived in Houston , Texas for 78 years before moving to Crockett, Texas in 2012. Mrs. Henry was a retired employee from Southwest Drug and a housewife. Mrs. Henry is survived by a step-daughter, Trish Rocca of Iowa; two nieces, Billie Jo Wallace and Becky Morgan, both of Crockett ; three nephews, Billy Henry of Houston, Ray Campbell and Wayne Campbell, both of Lufkin; special friend, Jack Lillard of Houston and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Owen and Lela Campbell; husband, L. E. Green; husband, G. W. Henry; brothers, Cleveland Campbell, Edward Campbell and wife, Cleo, Rayford Campbell and wife, Winnie.

Leslie Oran Bunch, Jr. was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on July 22, 1938 to Leslie
Oran, Sr. and Mary (Black) Bunch. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and
retired after thirty-six years from Southern Pacific Railroad as a heavy
equipment operator. Mr. Bunch worked mainly in Texas but also worked out of
state in Louisiana and Arizona. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting,
fishing, gardening and his barbecue. Mr. Bunch especially loved his family. They
meant everything to him, and he would always travel to be a part of any event in
which they were involved. Whatever Mr. Bunch did, whether in work or leisure, he
did it whole heartedly and to the best of his ability. Mr. Bunch was a Baptist
by faith. He passed away May 6, 2013 in Pasadena, Texas. Mr. Bunch was preceded
in death by both of his parents; beloved wife, Cora Jean Bunch; brother, Dickie
Bunch; infant brother, Delbert Bunch and step-daughter, Diana Moyers and her
husband, Andy.
Survivors include daughters, Theresa Lord & husband, Raymond Susuras, of
Pasadena and Priscilla Courville of Deer Park; step-daughter, Donna Lake of
Palestine; grandchildren, Trenton Moyers, Amber Courville, Josh Courville &
wife, Tiffany, Kirsten Susuras and John Kochins & wife, Amy; great
grandchildren, Brittany Jurand and Jamison, Tiyah, Joshua and Lily Courville and
