Fletcher Harold Beasley

Fletcher Harold Beasley, 82, of Madisonville, died Sunday, April 27, 2008 in Madisonville.  Funeral services are set for 10 AM, Friday, May 2 at First Baptist Church of Madisonville.  The family will receive visitors from 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, May 1 at Day Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Willowhole Cemetery.  Bro. Vaughn Tatum will officiate.

Mr. Beasley was born November 11, 1925 in Buffalo to Joseph Rush Beasley and Pearl Ejane (Chandler) Beasley.  Mr. Beasley served his country during World War II in the Navy and served his county for many years as a constable.  In retirement, Fletcher ranched and worked along side his wife of 58 years, Ella, in the real estate business.  Mr. Beasley was a lifetime member of The Madison County Fair Association and was an active supporter of the youth throughout the county.  Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his daughter, Lois Annette Tarver and his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae; his daughter, Linda Butler of Bryan; his son, Harold Beasley and wife Toni of Alvin; his son-in-law, Gerald Tarver of Madisonville; 5 grandchildren; Cody Beasley of Madisonville, Caroline Beasley of Alvin, Lane Beasley of Alvin, Billy Sexton of Houston, and Michelle Dimas of Houston; and 4 great grandchildren.

Stacy Fox

Stacy Fox, 33, of College Station, died Sunday, May 4 in College Station.  Graveside services are set for 11am Wednesday at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Madisonville.  Bro. Lanier Stevens will officiate. Visitation is set from 6-8PM Tuesday at Day Funeral Home Chapel.

Stacy was born October 29, 1974 in Brazos County to Russell Fox and Sharon (Hines) McBride.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Athol Dean and Betty Jo Baker Fox.

Survivors include her children, Ashlie and Baylie Fling of Bryan; mother, Sharon McBride of North Zulch; father, Russell Fox and Connie of Iola; sisters, Jada Mullins of Montgomery and Amanda Fox of College Station; brother, Chance Evans of North Zulch; nieces, Savanah and Abby Mullins of Montgomery; and grandfather, Nolan Fox of Magnolia.

Troy Lee Wren

Troy Lee Wren, 79, of Donie, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Bryan.  Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM, Sunday, May 11 at Zion United Methodist Church in Iola.  Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Iola.  The family will receive visitors from 5 – 7 PM, Saturday, May 10 at Day Funeral Home.

Mr. Wren was born September 6, 1928 in Iola to Claude and Reeda (Wren) Wren.  Mr. Wren served his country during World War II in the Air Force and participated in The Berlin Airlift.  He was a Mason for over fifty years, a boy scout leader, and a little league coach.  Mr. Wren loved his Lord, his family, and touched the lives of all he met often nicknaming grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Mr. Wren was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue (Wiggins) Wren and his sisters, Dorothy Darby and Imogene Williams.  Survivors include his son Mike Wren of Iola; his daughter Reeda Robinson and husband Glen of Iola; his son William E. Wren and wife Margaret of College Station; his daughter Becky Evans and husband James of Iola; grandchildren Rhonda Harmon, Jamie Evans, Jennifer Cadro, Sarah Robinson, Madison Wren, Joseph Wren, William A. Wren, Cody Evans, Jody Evans, Ryan Harmon, Brett Robinson, Wren Robinson, and Dylan Wren; great-grandchildren Jaden Evans, Kaiden Halley, Codi Jo Halley, Easton Evans, Cooper Cadro, Kane Wren, Mason Wren, Boston Wren, and Maycee Harmon; sister Betty Jo Keele and husband Bevard, brother Coree and wife Doris Wren, and brother-in-law John (China) Darby.

Mary Evelyn Rigby

Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Rigby, age 77 of Madisonville, are set for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6 at the North Madison Church of Christ with burial in Park Cemetery. Lanier Stevens and Dale Underwood will officiate. Visitation hours are 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Madisonville Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rigby was born on December 28, 1930 in Frankfort, Kentucky to Vernon and Nancy Black and passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008.  She had been a resident of Madisonville since 1971 and was a member of the North Madison Church of Christ.  Mrs. Rigby was a registered nurse and worked at various hospitals wherever her husband was stationed. She worked for the Madison County Hospital and for 10 years as nurse for Dr. Reed.  Mrs. Rigby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Rigby and sister, Janie Cotton.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Rigby and wife, Pam of Madisonville, Billy N. Rigby, Jr. and wife, Kim of Aurora, CO; five grandchildren, Capt. J.R. Rigby and wife, Lisa, Anne Wilhite and husband, Bryan, Lara Rigby, Jace Rigby and Ashley Rigby; three great grandchildren, Gracin, Brynnan and Hayden Rigby.

Verna Loyd “Dick” Garland

Memorial funeral services for Mr. V.L. Garland, age 92, of Buffalo are scheduled for Saturday, May 10, at 2 PM.  It will be held at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Buffalo.  The Garland Family is being assisted by Walters Funeral Home in Centerville with final arrangements.

Verna Loyd (Dick) Garland was born on January 11, 1916 in Buffalo, Texas to John and Dora (Hines) Garland.   He passed from this life in a Palestine hospital on May  7, 2008.   In 1941 he dedicated his life and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  His life was centered around the Bible and its commands. He raised his family to live by Bible principles which resulted in a close knit family. His life was focused on his Christian ministry.   He was preceded in death by his parents John and Dora Garland, two brothers, John Garland, Jr.  and Edward Garland  and a sister-in-law, Ruby Garland.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Buffalo; son Philip and his wife, Carla of Jacksonville; daughter Phyllis and her husband, Mike Vezorak of Buffalo; one brother, Hines Garland and wife Janet of Buffalo;  one sister, Leola Thurmond and husband Joe of San Antonio and sister-in-law,  Viola Garland of Bullard, Texas.  Mr. Garland is also survived by five grandchildren,  three great-grandchildren,  one  aunt and uncle; a host of nieces and nephews and a worldwide brotherhood.
