Theresa Mansour

Theresa Mansour, 44, of Bedias died June 8, 2008 in Madisonville.  Funeral services are set for 9:30 AM, Friday, June 13, 2008 at Day Funeral Home Chapel.  Chet Hensley will officiate.  No visitation or graveside services.

Theresa was born January 21, 1964 in Memphis, Tennessee to Yancie Sides and Patricia (Smith) Sides.  She was preceded in death by her mom and two brothers, Monte Sides and Blake Sides.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Reynoso; her father Yancie Sides; her daughter and son-in-law, Rola Rhodus and Marco;  grandchildren, Ava and Adam Rhodus; sisters, Cindy Binns and Pamela Lewis and brother, Ronnie Sides.

Boyce Gene Cole

Boyce Gene Cole, 77, of Madisonville, died June 17, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Regional Health Center in Bryan, TX.  Boyce was born and raised in Mecca, TX and later moved to Madisonville at the age of 12.  He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 19, from 5-7 PM at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville.  Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Madisonville.  Vaughn Tatum and Lanier Stevens will officiate the service.  Burial will immediately follow at Madisonville City Cemetery.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Webster and Annie Elizabeth Cole, brother, A.D. (Buck) Cole, and sister, Blanche Cole Fannin.

Boyce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ann Thompson Cole of Madisonville; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Debbie Cole of Plano, TX; and sister, Dana Cole Lightsey of Center, TX.  Survivors also include three grandchildren, Jordan Webster Cole of Denver, CO; Cassie Elizabeth Cole of College Station; John Evans Cole of Jackson, MS; three nephews and two nieces.

Schyler Irene Karber

Schyler Irene Karber, 93, of Madisonville, died Monday, June 16, 2008 in Madisonville.  Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Day Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Don Willis will officiate.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 PM at Day Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Marvin Stanton, Funeral Director.

Madeline Solesbee McMeans

Madeline Solesbee McMeans, 95, of Madisonville died Wednesday, June 18, 2008.  Funeral services are set for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 21 at Lunn’s Colonial Chapel in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Visitation will be held Friday from 6-7 PM at Lunn’s Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Madeline was born May 11, 1913 to Alfred Clinton Arnold and Lesse (Brannon) Arnold in Blossom, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, David Solesbee and Walter McMeans, her brother, Gordon Arnold, and her sister, Polly Abbott.

Survivors include her son, Perry Kenneth Solesbee and wife, Mary Ella of Madisonville, TX; sister, Euqinia Booher of Ennis, TX; granddaughters, Cynthia Karm and husband, Dwight of Spring, TX and Kenda Mahaffey and husband, Michael of Normangee, TX; great-grandchildren, Ash Karm and wife, Victoria of Spring, TX, Dwana Chrisoulis and husband, Nick of Spring, TX, Dwight Karm, Jr. and wife, Melissa of Spring, TX, Matthew Mahaffey of Houston, TX, Laura Jimenez and husband, Joshua of Odessa, TX, and Luke Solesbee Mahaffey of Normangee; 11 great great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, William Schuman, Robert Schuman, Rosalie Paradine, and Patrick Schuman; and 8 step great-grandchildren.

Donald W. Owens

A memorial service for Donald W. Owens, age 71 of Madisonville, will be held on 2 pm, Saturday, June 7, at the Madisonville Funeral Home.  The Madisonville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Don loved his dog, Bones and his two cats.  He enjoyed working around his land and his passion was sailing.  Don was a member of the American Sailing Association (ASA) and was a ASA sailing instructor.  He was racing in the National Finals at the time of his death.  Don will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Don is survived by his wife of 15 years, Kay Owens; two step-sons, Scott Strong and wife, Karen, of Sugar Land and Kevin Strong and wife, Tiffany, of Bryan; two grandchildren, Preston and Jenna Strong; mother-in-law, Helen Allen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rhena and Darrell Whitlow; nephew, Michael Whitlow; honorary family members, Dr. Dick Fisher and wife, Mary, and son, Scott Fisher.

Emily Ann Hyndman

Funeral services for Mrs. Emily Ann Hyndman, age 74 of Galveston and formerly of Leona and Centerville, are scheduled for Saturday, June 7, at 10 am at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.  Burial will follow in the Hyndman Family Cemetery in Leona.  Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 1 pm until 8 pm with the family present to receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Mrs. Hyndman passed away at her residence on Tuesday evening.  The Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of the arrangements.

Benjamin Ray Dillard

Funeral services for Benjamin Ray Dillard, age 67, of Buffalo are scheduled for 11 AM on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centerville.  Rev. Melvin Lowe, pastor of the Highway Tabernacle Church of God in Buffalo will officiate and burial will follow in the Liberty Cemetery just north of Centerville off of Hwy 75. Visitation is set for Tuesday from 1 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.  The family will be present from 6 PM until 8 PM to receive friends.

Benjamin Ray Dillard was born March 9, 1941 in Houston to Buck and Lorene (Reynolds) Dillard.  In 1959, he graduated from Charles Bender High School in Humble and in 1965, he graduated from Sam Houston State University.  Mr. Dillard owned and operated B.R. Dillard Construction Co., Inc. in New Caney for 30 years.  He was an excellent builder and worked hard at this job.   Mr. Dillard moved to Leon County from New Caney in 2006.  He was a Methodist by faith.  He attended the Highway Tabernacle Church of God and was very active in their music program in local nursing homes.  He loved listening to music and went to many music jamborees.  He was learning to play the guitar.  Music became a very important part of his life these last few years.  He died in a Bryan hospital on June 8, 2008.

Survivors inclue his wife, Clara Dillard of Buffalo; two sons, Benjamin Ray Dillard, Jr. of Buffalo and Michael Matthew Dillard and his wife, Reiannon, of Humble; a brother, George Edward Dillard of Houston; two sisters, Georgia Mae Allen of Centerville and Eva Joe and three grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Dillard, Curtis Edward Bradley and Sueann Marie Dillard.

Willie Mae Nealey

Funeral services for Willie Mae “Red Horse” Nealey, age 68, of Leona have been set for 1 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Two Mile United Methodist Church east of Leona.  Rev. Connie Blackshear will officiate and burial will follow in the Two-Mile Paradise Cemetery.  Visitation for Mrs. Nealey will be from 1 PM until 8 PM on Friday at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.

Willie Mae “Red Horse” Nealey was born in near Leona on January 13, 1940 to Willie and Ollie Mae (King) Polk.  She lived all of her life near Leona and worked as a housekeeper in private homes.  She was a member of the Two Mile United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Edker “Bright Eyes” Nealy; a daughter, Evelyn Louise Nealy; a brother, Donnie Polk and a sister, Faye Lois Polk.  Mrs. Nealey passed away on June 11, 2008 in a Bryan hospital.

Surviving family includes her husband, Edker “Sonny” Nealy; sons, John Fitzgerald “John-John” Nealy of Ft. Worth and Jeffery Eugene Nealy of Leona; eight brothers; six sisters; four grandchildren and one great grandson.

Nancy Susanne Fielder

Friends and family will gather at the Walters Funeral Home on Saturday, June 14, 2008 from 6 pm until 9 pm to honor and remember Nancy as she had requested.  At 7 pm, a short service will be held.

Nancy Susanne Fielder was born in Houston, Texas on July 8, 1951 to F.O. and Celia (Johns) Cherry.  She died at her home just north of Centerville early on June 12, 2008 after a battle with cancer.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 29 years, John B. Fielder and two sons, Roy David Welch and his wife, Cheryl and James Justin Fielder, his daughter Emily Alayne Shoemake and her mom, Brandy.  Emily was the apple of her "Nana's" eye.  Also surviving her are her step-children, who were more like friends than just step-children, Candis Burns and her husband, Paul, Ben Fielder and his wife, Lynne and Laurine King and her husband, Chuck.  She is survived by grandchildren, Robert Walker and his wife, Susie and their three children, Trey Jenkins, J.W. Jenkins, and Little Robert Walker; Gracie Fielder and her children, Ashley and Nicholas and Troy Welch.  Nancy was also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Shannon Cherry and their two children, Jessica and Jason and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

James Fred Bisor

Funeral services for Mr. James Fred Bisor, age 64, of Leona have been scheduled for 10:30 am, Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Centerville.  There will be a short visitation beginning at 9:30 am at the church before the service begins at 10:30 am.  Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of the arrangements.  Rev. Elmer Phillips, the pastor of the church, will officiate.  Burial will take place at the Paradise South Cemetery in Pearland, Texas at 3:00 pm that same day.

Mr. Bisor had lived in Leona since 1986, having moved from Houston.  He was born in Normangee on January 19, 1944 and grew up in Houston, graduating from Worthing High School.  While in Houston, he worked for Hughes Tool Company for 23 years.  After moving to Leon County, he worked for the Department of Corrections for about 10 years and then owned and operated Bee Trucking Co. for about 10 years.  He passed away on June 12, 2008 in a Bryan hospital.

Mr. Bisor is survived by his wife, Ernestine Bisor of Leona, a son, Tony Jerome Bisor and daughter, Debra Bisor, both of Missouri City, Texas.

Don Edward Kymes

Funeral services for Don Edward Kymes, age 73, of Centerville are scheduled for 11 AM, Thursday, June 26th at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.  Rev. Dean Easterling, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Centerville, will officiate and interment will follow the service in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.  Visitation is set for Wednesday from 1 PM until 8 PM with the family present from 6 PM until 8 PM to receive friends.

Don Kymes was born June 8, 1935 in Pearcy, Arkansas to Grady and Lottie Marie (Kelton) Kymes.  Don was raised and lived in Arkansas until he was about 30 years old.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy.  Don lived much of his adult life in Dallas and worked for Sherwin Williams Paint Company.  He retired as a regional Sales Manager in the late 1980’s but continued to do work for various paint companies.  He moved to Houston and, later, to Centerville where he had resided for eight years.  He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Don was also very active in community work, serving four years as president of the organization “Friends of Ft. Boggy” and as a contractor for the Centerville Economic Development  Council on the construction of two city parks.  He used his skills as a builder and “handyman” on many other occasions. Don also bred and raised “Tennessee Walkers”, beautiful horses that are famous for their swift and smooth “running walk”.  He especially loved to ride these popular pleasure, trail and show horses.   Don was preceded in death by his parents.  He passed away early Tuesday morning in a Huntsville hospital following a short illness.

Surviving family members include his wife, Beverly Ward Kymes of Centerville; daughter, Nancy Sabrina Robison and her husband, Mark, of Rockwall; sons, John David Gresham and his wife, Diane, of Houston and Patrick Lee Gresham and his wife, Michelle, of Humble; brothers, Harold Saunders, of Pearcy, Arkansas and Roger Dale Kymes of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sister, Billie Jean Pittman and her husband, Warren, of Hot Springs, Arkansas and six grandchildren.
